Finally, it is Spring! I think I was expecting daffodils to emerge instantly from the earth, blooms to burst into flower and a cacophony of bird song to fill the air on the 1st March! Unfortunately it's still quiet cold and today little fluffy flakes of snow appear intermittently in the frosty wind. But some of my bulbs have begun to poke their heads up through their duvet of soil and my mind is a-buzz with ideas for the garden and impatience to get out there and feel the earth in my hands and under my finger nails!
I have already purchased this planting combination of Campanula lactifolia ‘Prichards Variety’ and Aconitum 'Ivorine' from Sarah Raven although I have to keep reminding myself I won't be able to replicate this photo exactly in my garden!
I have plans to replace our black plastic and glass garden table (impulse buy at Homebase when we first moved to house and needed something to at in the garden!) with a lovely new (old!) round metal table. A pretty bird house is also in order too - we need to provide some sanctuary for the little sparrows etc. that dare to venture to our garden with our two felines prowling around (although thankfully they haven't caught any birds so far).
And I would like to plant more roses this year, I already have climbing roses towards to end of the garden but I would like to plant some in the flower beds near the seating area. Plus an old watering can - the one in this photo is so sweet! And I wouldn't mind the old brick wall too...actually I wouldn't mind transplanting this whole photo into my little garden!
Is anyone else suffering from itchy green fingers?
