My creative weekend

I was in a creative mood last weekend, so I pulled out an old embroidered linen runner that I knew I wasn't going to use. It took several attempts, but I plucked up the courage and managed to cut it into sections. I hadn't made cushions before, but I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted the end result to look like so I decided to have a go. After a few false starts and a bit of unpicking I finished them and guess what......they look exactly as I had wanted them to!
I also managed to get my husband to hang the door curtain! I bought this a while ago (before we bought the cottage!) from Niki at Nostalgia it's a lovely Laura Ashley print of wallflowers in pale lilacs and cornflower blues.
Not only does it look very pretty, it will help keep those frosty winter drafts out too!

  1. One of my favourite prints. Have these curtains in the bathroom! Have a fab weekend. Lizzie x

  2. What a great idea for cushions....they are lovely. For someone who has not made cushions before.... you have done extremely well!

  3. Those cushions are incredible! I have a cushion crisis (yet again) due to the otherwise wonderful presence of two large boys and one small dog in our house. I could never cope with beautiful, pale cushions like yours... but I can dream.

  4. My first visit to your blog - do you really live in London?! Looks so pretty and countrified! Your door is beautifully dressed now!

  5. Very lovely cushions and curtains too!!!

  6. Hi Charlotte,
Your pretty linen cushions are perfect - well done to you for having a go...and now you can enjoy your one-of-a-kind creations.

And the door curtain looks fabulous...thanks for the mention. This is one of my favourite LA prints too...I have these curtains in our downstairs WC...wise minds think alike Lizzie! ;-))
I shall add your photo to my 'Inspiration' page, thank you!
