Here are the promised photos:
There is a lovely ceanothus outside, I love the dusky blue of the flowers.
The first room is the sitting room, all the work we have to do in here is to redecorate - I don't think a statement red chimney breast is such a good idea in a small room! We're also replacing the front door as well.
The next room is the dining room, with a lovely big fireplace (though it's been permanently blocked). The paint work is quite scuffed up here so we're getting it repainted.
Then we go into the kitchen, the sink in here needs to be replaced as it's really badly stained, and this room also needs to be repainted. Plus we're adding a splashback behind the cooker and installing an extractor fan.
Next is a small utility area with a door out to the garden which will be replaced by our stable door. Then we enter the small but perfectly formed bathroom, we're leaving this as it is.
Now we go upstairs, this is the main bedroom, again it needs to be redecorated.
And the second bedroom, we're having the chimney breast (just out of view) taken out of this room. The fire downstairs has been blocked so taking the chimney breast out will make this room much more usable.
Now, quickly downstairs and into the garden. I'm going to dig out all of the gravel along the side of the decking to make some extra beds.
The tree at the end of the garden also needs a little bit of a trim, to get a little bit more light into the garden.
Mmmmm, the roses smell lovely.
Well, those are the "before" photos, I'll post some "after" photos once we've decorated and got our furniture in!
Looks lovely, I like the wooden floor. Can't wait to see the 'after' pictures.

What a cute little cottage...
ReplyDeleteNo dodgy decor or fittings and the stripped doors and floors look really good....
Can't wait to see the "after" pictures too!
